I crossed my first restaurant off of my 2019 Bucket List this past weekend! Bastien’s Steakhouse has now made it to one of my favorite restaurants in Denver! I knew the moment I walked in to Bastien’s that this was like no other steakhouse. This little gem has been around since the late 1950’s, and it is exactly like stepping back into time – from Frank Sinatra playing in the background to classic cocktails and 50’s décor.
DRINKS

I started my dinner with a dirty martini. I’m pretty picky about my martini’s and this one was great! Extra dirty with a garlic stuffed olive. The martini’s at Bastien’s are served in a metal martini glass which kept them nice and chilled!
APPETIZER

These mushrooms were generously stuffed with a pork and veal mix with a cream sauce and they did not disappoint!
MAIN ENTREE

Although Bastien’s is known for their sugar steak, I couldn’t pass up the surf and turf. My dinner came with an 8 oz filet topped with balsamic, bearnaise, gorgonzola crumbles, pistachios and 4 bacon wrapped scallops. The filet was cooked perfectly (medium-rare) and was nice and flavorful. The scallops were also great and the bacon added a nice smokiness. Each steak entree comes with a salad or soup, a choice of potato and house vegetables. I went with a nice dinner salad, and the jalapeño mashed potatoes. It was nice to have these sides included with your dinner!
DESSERT

For dessert I went with what our sweet waitress recommended, which was the white chocolate bread pudding. O.M.G. this was out of this world amazing.
Overall, I would rate Bastien’s an 8. The food was great and the environment was so fun! It’s a great place to go if you are looking for a nice steak and dining experience. Check out their menu here and make a reservation!

But was it CAB (Certified Angus Beef)? Nothing compares to CAB! I’ll get you a list of CAB restaurants in Denver! Everything looked scrumptious! Especially those stuffed mushrooms! Yumm!
